Study on south-west monsoon rainfall characteristics in arid zone of Haryana

چکیده
The daily rainfall data of arid zone for a period 50 years (1946-95) at three locations. Hisar, Bhiwani and Sirsa were analyzed to find out characteristics south-west monsoon. Mean onset date was observed 4 July Hisar with standard deviation 7 9 days respectively, whereas days. monsoon inversely related amount all stations under study. mean withdrawal dates 15 September 11 also showed inverse significant correlation amount. number rainy 18, 17 13 5, 6 days, respectively.

Modelling of monsoon rainfall for a mesoscale catchment in North-West India II: stochastic rainfall simulations
Within this study we present a robust method for generating precipitation time series for the Anas catchment in North Western India. The method employs a multivariate stochastic simulation model that is driven by a time series of objectively classified circulation patterns (CPs). In a companion study (Zehe et al., 2006) it was already shown that CPs classified from the 500 or 700 Hpa levels are...

متن کاملCharacteristics of Precipitating Convective Systems in the South Asian Monsoon
Eight years of Tropical Rainfall Measuring Mission (TRMM) Precipitation Radar (PR) data show how convective systems of different types contribute to precipitation of the South Asian monsoon. The main factor determining the amount of precipitation coming from a specific system is its horizontal size. Convective intensity and/or number of embedded convective cells further enhance its precipitatio...
متن کاملTECTONOMAGMATIC CHARACTERISTICS OF THE ETIVE IGNEOUS COMPLEX, SOUTH WEST SCOTLAND
The Etive igneous complex has intruded into Dalradian and Moine meta-sedimentary rocks in Devonian. Main rock types of the complex are granodiorite, monzodiorite, monzogranite, granite and diorite. Geochemical studies show that the magmas were of high K calc-alkaline, I-type and metaluminous nature. Application of discriminant diagrams to the Etive rocks indicates a possible within-plate tecton...
